The Raiken sports usually involve weaponry and a possibility of death during such sports. Being a Warrior Race, and taking pride in ability, the Raiken showcase their ability using these sports.
Delser vi Sike
Translated, it literally means, "Fight of Sword", and is literally a duel. The round ends when one combatant either forfeit , is too injured to fight, or in some cases, killed. To forfeit a match is a dishonor among the Raiken, and such a dishonor rarely happens. Injury is the most common end to a bout, however, death is not a small fraction of the ending factors. Delser Vi Sike is played by minor swordsmen, to Swordmasters. Children may partake in the combat, however, the blades are not lethal.
Another version of "Delser vi Sike" is a fight to the death. This is primarily used to regain lost honor. Even if the one trying to regain honor is killed in battle, He/She does gain honor for an attempt at valor.
Tha vuru Tait vuras Oen
Translated, it means "Take and Have the Hill" more commonly known as "King of the Hill". Instead of pitting one vs one in a swordsmanship contest in "Delser vi Sike", "Tha vuru Tait vuras Oen" is a more Free-For-All game, though it may be played with teams. To win, the "Kings" must control the hill for five minutes collectively. Played by adults and children, lethal weapons are used in the adult version, while children may play with, or without weapons. In short, it is a trial of the strongest Raiken.
Vuras Waru Rane
Translated, it means "The Long Run". "Vuras Waru Rane" is a test of speed and endurance. The contestants must run without Power Armor assistance, for a total of ten miles. However, the terrain is not empty, and straight-forward. At each mile marker, there is an obstacle that the contestant must pass in order to proceed. The tests are not known before-hand, but they are the same for each contestant to maintain equality.
Useri Aves
Translated, it means "Best People/Person". The "Useri Aves" is a gathering of the fastest, strongest, and most skilled Raiken in the Alliance. They compete against each other to achieve the highest status in their bracket. Brackets are as follows : Speed | Strength | Swordsmanship | Marksmanship | Skill | Intelligence | Tactics | Leadership | Endurance. Raiken are not limited to one bracket, the champion is swordsmanship can also be the winner in speed, or any other bracket. Champions of the brackets are awarded the Champion title for one year, a substantial cash prize, and a great deal of respect. The "Useri Aves" are held each year, and are a widely attended event.
Nyke vi Okalar
Translated, it means "Stake of Name". Due to the Raiken giving themselves, or others giving them, their "ability" name, there is a possibility of two or more individuals with the same "ability" name. The Nyke vi Okalar allows Raiken to challenge those who share their name, to compete for "ownership" of the title. The loser must renounce his "ability" name, while the winner keeps it.
